Pakistani Adventure athlete Samar Khan has successfully summited a virgin peak of 5,610 meters and also snow boarded there. According to a handout Samar is introducing a “new culture of backcountry snowboarding in the country”.
She became the first Pakistani female who summit the peak followed by her teammates Azam Baig, Jaffar Ullah, Zehran Baig and Hashir Rafique.
In her Facebook post she said “The peak is named ‘Ghar e Samar’ (غرِثمر) as Samar Khan was the first one to summit & snowboard on it introducing a totally new culture of backcountry snowboarding in the country. The new avenue of winter extreme sports has been opened for aspiring youth of Pakistan which has huge potential keeping in mind the largest mountain ranges we have.”
Samar Khan belongs to Dir from Khyber Pakhtoonkhaw also paid gratitude to the sponsor Lane Sever Apparel & the team for uplifting each other to make it successful.
Meanwhile, the handout also mentioned that “new avenue of winter extreme sports has been opened for aspiring youth of Pakistan which has a huge potential keeping in mind the largest mountain ranges we have.
