Pakistani Adventure athlete Samar Khan has successfully summited a virgin peak of 5,610 meters and also snow boarded there. According to a handout Samar is introducing a “new culture of backcountry snowboarding in the country”. She became the first Pakistani female who summit the peak followed by her teammates Azam Baig, Jaffar Ullah, Zehran Baig and Hashir Rafique. U.S. Ambassador Donald Blome announced today an additional $30 million in humanitarian assistance to support flood-affected populations in Pakistan. This new funding brings the United States total assistance to Pakistan for flood response, food security, and disaster preparedness and capacity building efforts to $97 million this year. Higher Education Commission (HEC), Pakistan in collaboration with Pakistan High Commission in Colombo, Sri Lanka organised a joint Pre-departure Orientation and Scholarship Award Ceremony for Sri Lankan students in Colombo.
