Pakistan’s Fatima Sana has been crowned captain of the ICC Women’s Cricket World Cup Qualifier 2025 Team of the Tournament, after leading her side to an unbeaten campaign and securing a World Cup spot later this year.

Described as Pakistan’s “talisman,” Fatima stood tall with both bat and ball—scoring 103 runs and grabbing 12 wickets. Her match-winning 62 vs Thailand* and a fiery 4/23 against Scotland—despite an injury—cemented her place as the standout performer.

Pakistan’s Dominance Reflected in the XI

The team features four Pakistani players, showcasing the depth of talent that led them to a flawless run:

  • Muneeba Ali: With 223 runs, her steady starts at the top were vital. A match-winning 71 vs Scotland and 69 against Bangladesh earned her two Player of the Match awards.

  • Nashra Sandhu: The left-arm spinner picked up 10 wickets at 15.60, often delivering in clutch middle overs.

  • Sadia Iqbal: Partnering with Nashra, she bagged 9 wickets with an economy under 4, keeping opposition batters in check.

Global Stars Join the Squad

  • Hayley Matthews (West Indies): Tournament’s highest wicket-taker (13) and second-highest scorer (240). Her explosive 114* and 70 off 29 made headlines.

  • Kathryn Bryce (Scotland): Player of the tournament with 293 runs and 6 wickets. Her 131* and 3-wicket haul against Ireland were game-changers.

  • Sharmin Akhter & Nigar Sultana (Bangladesh): Anchors for Bangladesh. Sharmin scored 266 runs while captain Nigar contributed 235 runs and 5 dismissals behind the stumps.

Lower-Order Firepower

  • Chinelle Henry & Aaliyah Alleyne (West Indies): Known for their finishing power. Henry smashed 48 off 17 vs Thailand; Alleyne picked key wickets including 4/39 vs Bangladesh.

  • Katherine Fraser (Scotland): All-round impact with crucial lower-order runs and three late wickets vs West Indies sealed a close win for Scotland.

Final XI – ICC Women’s World Cup Qualifier 2025 Team of the Tournament:

  1. Hayley Matthews (WI)

  2. Muneeba Ali (PAK)

  3. Sharmin Akhter (BAN)

  4. Kathryn Bryce (SCO)

  5. Nigar Sultana (BAN) (wk)

  6. Fatima Sana (PAK) (captain)

  7. Chinelle Henry (WI)

  8. Aaliyah Alleyne (WI)

  9. Katherine Fraser (SCO)

  10. Nashra Sandhu (PAK)

  11. Sadia Iqbal (PAK)

This squad isn’t just a team—it’s a statement of resilience, skill, and leadership. And at the heart of it stands Fatima Sana, a rising icon of women’s cricket.
