Umeå University Scholarship for International Students
Umeå University offers scholarships each year, in conjunction with the Autumn semester admission, to academically talented and high-achieving students. Scholarships offered are in the form of tuition-waivers. Selected candidates receive a full or partial waiver of the tuition fee. This scholarship is sponsored by a donation from the Erling-Persson Family Foundation. 8 new students will be offered this scholarship every year. Selected candidates receive full tuition waivers as well as an allowance of SEK 3000 per month.
See who is eligible for this scholarship
- are a citizen of a country outside of EU/EEA and Switzerland.
- have completed your application for programme studies in public health at master’s level (before the application deadline of 17 January)
- have paid the application fee by 1 February latest.
- have a Umeå University programme as priority 1 at the University Admissions Website.
The selections are based entirely on the applicant’s academic merit. A committee appointed by the Vice-Chancellor is tasked with selecting candidates for scholarships.

16 January – Application deadline for studies autumn semester 2023
18 January – Scholarship application period opens
15 February – Scholarship application deadline
30 March – Selection results, Master’s programmes
After 15 April – Scholarship results are published
