Pakistan’s squash talent shined brightly in Melbourne as sisters Mehwish, Sehrish, and Mahnoor Ali cruised into the semi-finals of the Australian Junior Open 2025, dominating their respective categories with straight-set wins.

Top seed Mehwish Ali continued her title defense in the U-17 category with a commanding victory over Hong Kong’s Maeghan Wang, winning 11-6, 11-3, 11-2. She now prepares to face Australian Tina Ma, the reigning U-15 champion, in what promises to be a high-stakes semi-final.

In the U-15 category, second seed Sehrish Ali made quick work of Chelsea Paule, defeating her 11-2, 11-3, 11-1. Sehrish will now go up against Olivia van Zon in the semi-final clash. As of March 2025, Sehrish ranks No. 1 in Pakistan’s Women’s U-15 squash.

Adding to the family dominance, 12-year-old Mahnoor Ali continued her unbeaten run, thrashing New Zealand’s Meriam Ibrahim 11-1, 11-0, 11-3 in the U-13 category. She’ll face Elizabeth Wang in the semi-final. Mahnoor is currently ranked No. 1 in Pakistan in the Women’s squash rankings, ahead of her sisters Mehwish (No. 5) and Sehrish (No. 14).

Meanwhile, Nouman Khan’s campaign ended in the Round of 16, as he suffered a straight-set loss to Australia’s Elijah Rolls, failing to register a single point.
