In a remarkable display of wordplay prowess, Hammad Hadi Khan from Pakistan clinched victory in the Diamond category at the World Scrabble Championship (WESPAC) with three games to spare. Hadi’s mastery of the game was evident as he secured an impressive 21 wins out of 24 games, securing his third international title overall.

Hadi’s previous victories include the Princess Cup in Thailand in 2017 and the open division of the World Scrabble Championship in England in 2018. This latest triumph adds to his growing list of achievements in the world of competitive Scrabble.

Singapore’s Jeremy Khoo put up a valiant effort, finishing as the runner-up with 16 wins, while the USA’s Stefan Kac secured third place with 15 wins.

Meanwhile, in the Open category, Pakistan’s Mohammad Inayatullah showcased his skills, securing a commendable third position with 15 wins out of 24 games. Tariq Pervez, also the vice president of Pakistan Scrabble Association (PSA), achieved a respectable seventh position.

The World Scrabble Championship, currently taking place in Las Vegas, America, has drawn around 200 players from across the globe to compete for the prestigious title.

In the build-up to the championship, Pakistan’s Wasim Khatri made his mark in the Early Bird tournament, a precursor to the main event. Khatri’s exceptional performance led him to a resounding victory in the Early Bird tournament, making him the first Pakistani player to achieve this milestone. Last year, he had secured the second position in the same tournament.

The Pakistani contingent’s outstanding achievements in both the Diamond and Open categories underscore their dominance and proficiency in the world of competitive Scrabble.
