Pakistan continued their impressive run at the World U-19 Volleyball Championship in Tashkent, registering a commanding 3-0 victory over host nation Uzbekistan on Friday. After opening the tournament with a win against Belgium, the Pakistani squad carried their momentum into the second match, defeating Uzbekistan in straight sets with scores of 25-23, 25-18, and 25-21.

The young Pakistani team displayed a well-rounded performance, tallying 75 total points, including 45 from attacks, 12 from blocks, and two from service aces. Uzbekistan handed over 16 points due to unforced errors, which Pakistan capitalized on effectively.
Leading from the front, Mohammad Yahya was once again the standout performer with a stellar 24 points. He was well-supported by Mohammad Saud, who contributed 10 points, while Muhtad Ali Shah and Ajmal Junaid each added nine. The team’s balanced scoring and aggressive net play proved too much for the hosts to handle.
Head coach Saeed Ahmed Khan Sady expressed pride in his team’s discipline and ability to maintain composure under pressure. “Our boys showed tremendous maturity and confidence on the court today. Beating the host team is never easy, but our players remained focused and executed the game plan with precision,” he said post-match.
The win solidifies Pakistan’s standing in the pool stage and builds strong momentum ahead of their next match against Turkey on Saturday. With two back-to-back victories and rising confidence, Pakistan looks set to challenge for a top spot in the group and advance deep into the tournament.
