The Pakistan Blind Cricket Council (PBCC) has confirmed that Pakistan’s matches in the inaugural Women’s Blind T20 World Cup will now be played in Colombo, Sri Lanka, instead of Nepal. The decision comes in light of recent tensions in Nepal, ensuring a smoother arrangement for the tournament.

PBCC chairman and World Blind Cricket Limited president, Syed Sultan, stated that the event is scheduled from November 11 to 25 across India and Nepal. However, with the relocation, Pakistan’s group stage matches will be staged in Colombo. If the national team qualifies for the semi-finals and final, those fixtures will also take place in Colombo. Should Pakistan not progress, their matches will then be played in Bangalore.

The women’s squad for the World Cup will be officially announced in October. Players for the side had been shortlisted earlier and are currently under observation as part of the selection process.

The relocation ensures Pakistan’s participation remains uninterrupted while providing players the chance to compete in a landmark event that represents a major step forward for blind women’s cricket worldwide.
