The opening match turned into a battle of resilience as Pakistan Customs and Pakistan Navy fought hard to end with a 4-4 draw. Customs took the lead with Emmad showing top form, scoring twice to keep his side in contention. Shahzab and Sumail also contributed a goal each, keeping Customs on the offensive throughout the game. On the other side, Navy matched the pace with clinical finishing. Rana Walid scored an equalizer, while Hanan Shahid and Zakariya kept the pressure on Customs’ defense. Basharat Ali then netted the crucial fourth goal, leveling the score and sealing the thrilling draw. The clash reflected the strength of both teams and showcased young talent ready to carry Pakistan’s hockey forward.

The second match of the day brought even more excitement as Mari Energies dominated Pakistan Air Force with an impressive 5-2 victory. Mari Energies started aggressively, pushing forward with quick passes and sharp attacking play. Ahmad Nadeem emerged as the star performer, scoring two goals and leading his team with precision and control. Wasim Akram, Sufyan, and Ghazanfar each added a goal, ensuring their side maintained control throughout the match. Despite being outplayed, Pakistan Air Force managed to find the net twice. Zahir Husnain and Abdul Malan scored one goal apiece, showing their side’s fighting spirit, but it wasn’t enough to stop Mari Energies from cruising to a confident win.

The contrasting results of the day highlighted both the balance and the unpredictability of the tournament. The draw between Customs and Navy kept both teams in the race for higher rankings, while Mari Energies’ dominant performance gave them momentum and confidence for the matches ahead.

The Chief of Naval Staff Hockey Tournament is one of Pakistan’s premier hockey events, organized to promote the sport and provide a platform for emerging and seasoned players alike. With participation from strong departmental and institutional teams, the tournament has consistently delivered high-quality competition. This year’s edition is already proving to be one of the most engaging, attracting fans, officials, and scouts who are keen to witness the future stars of Pakistan hockey.

Fans in Lahore have responded enthusiastically, filling the stands of the National Hockey Stadium and cheering passionately for their favorite teams. The vibrant atmosphere, combined with competitive play, reflects a renewed energy around hockey—a sport that has long been a source of national pride for Pakistan.

As the tournament continues, more high-stakes matches are expected, with teams like Wapda, Army, and Railways also eyeing strong performances. The road ahead promises nail-biting action, as every team looks to secure top positions and ultimately compete for the championship title.
