Cristiano Ronaldo reaffirmed his undying passion for football and his ambition to reach 1,000 career goals, after being named Best Middle East Player at the Globe Soccer Awards in Dubai on Sunday.

The 40-year-old Portuguese forward, currently playing for Saudi club Al-Nassr, recently scored a brace against Al-Ittihad, taking his career tally to 956 goals for both club and country. Despite his age, Ronaldo said he remains motivated to play for “one or two more years”, keeping the 1,000-goal milestone within reach.
“It’s hard to continue playing, but I am motivated,” Cristiano Ronaldo said after receiving the award for the second consecutive year. “My passion is high and I want to continue. It doesn’t matter where I play, whether in the Middle East or Europe. I always enjoy playing football and I want to keep going.”
Ronaldo also reiterated his focus on winning trophies while chasing personal milestones. “You know what my goal is. I want to win trophies and I want to reach that number (1,000 goals) that you all know. I will reach the number for sure, if no injuries,” he added.
