England continued their unbeaten summer by defeating New Zealand by seven wickets in the fourth women’s T20 international at The Kia Oval.
New Zealand, opting to bat first, struggled against England’s spinners and posted a modest total of 103-8. Sarah Glenn led the bowling attack with impressive figures of 4-19.ย Sophie Ecclestone contributed with 2-16.
New Zealand initially reached 33-0 laterย on they faltered after Glenn dismissed Georgia Plimmer and Amelia Kerr in the seventh over, triggering a collapse to 52-5. Izzy Gaze and Maddy Green attempted to stabilize the innings, adding 28 for the sixth wicket, but Glenn’s second two-wicket over dismantled their partnership, leaving the White Ferns with only 19 runs from the last three overs.
With this victory, England leads the five-match T20 series 4-0, following a 3-0 ODI series win over New Zealand and a clean sweep against Pakistan earlier in the summer.
The final match of the series will be played at Lord’s on Wednesday.
