Liverpool forward Mohamed Salah has officially signed a two-year contract extension, ending months of speculation and confirming his commitment to the Anfield club until 2027.

The 32-year-old Egyptian, who joined from AS Roma in 2017, was set to become a free agent this summer. Now, with this new deal, Salah extends a legendary career with Liverpool — one that already includes 243 goals in 394 appearances, making him the club’s third-highest goalscorer of all time.

“I’m very excited. I signed because I think we have a chance to win more trophies and enjoy my football,” Salah said. “It’s great — I had my best years here. Hopefully, it’s going to be 10 years.”

Salah has been on fire this season, netting 32 goals across all competitions and currently leading the Premier League Golden Boot race with 27 goals. His red-hot form has played a massive role in Liverpool sitting 11 points clear at the top of the league table, with just seven matches left.

A Win for Liverpool Amid External Pressure

Despite interest from Saudi Pro League clubs and prolonged negotiations, Salah’s decision is a significant win for Liverpool — both on and off the pitch. His consistency, leadership, and ability to perform in crucial moments make him irreplaceable.

Salah also emphasized the bond he shares with the Anfield faithful:

“It’s a special moment always when we play at Anfield. Every time I score and they sing my song, it’s something special. The story will continue.”

Arne Slot: “A Pleasant Surprise for Fans”

Liverpool manager Arne Slot revealed he had known the deal was close for some time, but praised the relief it brought to fans:

“For the fans, it was a pleasant surprise. Salah has shown how valuable he is for years. We’re all very happy he’s staying, and hopefully, he’ll show it again this Sunday.”

What’s Next?

As Salah locks in his future, attention now turns to other Liverpool stars. Captain Virgil van Dijk, whose contract ends this season, is rumored to be close to an extension. Meanwhile, right-back Trent Alexander-Arnold has been linked with Real Madrid — though no deal is confirmed yet.
