LAHORE – The Pakistan men’s national cricket team will tour Bangladesh in July 2025 for a three-match T20I series, marking a key step in their build-up to the ICC T20 World Cup 2026. The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) confirmed the tour as part of a reciprocal agreement after Pakistan hosted Bangladesh earlier this year in Lahore, where the home side won all three T20Is.
According to the official PCB statement, the team will arrive in Dhaka on July 16, with the three T20 Internationals scheduled for July 20, 22, and 24. All matches will be played at the Sher-e-Bangla National Cricket Stadium, Bangladesh’s premier cricket venue known for hosting high-intensity international matches.
The tour holds strategic importance as Pakistan aims to refine its squad and strategies ahead of the T20 World Cup 2026, which will be jointly hosted by India and Sri Lanka next year. The series will offer valuable match practice, especially in Asian conditions, and allow selectors to test different combinations and player roles.
“This tour is part of our broader plan to provide maximum international exposure to our squad ahead of the World Cup,” a PCB official said. “We are focusing on consistent match time, performance under pressure, and team synergy.”
The team’s schedule after the Bangladesh leg will include a trip to the West Indies, where Pakistan will play three T20Is and three ODIs. The dates and venues for the Caribbean tour will be announced in the coming weeks.
Pakistan’s coaching staff is expected to use the Bangladesh series to assess form and fitness, particularly of young talents and returning players, ensuring that the final squad for the T20 World Cup is well-balanced and battle-ready.
For Bangladesh, the series also presents an opportunity to bounce back from the defeats earlier this year and prepare their own squad for the global tournament.
This upcoming tour also reflects the strengthening cricketing ties between Pakistan and Bangladesh, with both boards committed to maintaining bilateral exchanges that benefit both teams’ long-term objectives.
With Pakistan recently rising in the ICC T20I rankings and the national squad featuring a blend of experienced campaigners and rising stars, fans can expect an exciting contest in Dhaka.
The countdown to the T20 World Cup 2026 has truly begun, and this series will be a crucial chapter in Pakistan’s preparations to reclaim their spot among the world’s top T20 sides.
