Paris Saint-Germain delivered a historic performance in Germany, defeating Bayer Leverkusen 7-2 in one of the most memorable Champions League nights in recent years. The French champions showed complete dominance as Desire Doue scored twice, with Willian Pacho and Khvicha Kvaratskhelia adding first-half goals. Leverkusen’s Aleix Garcia converted a penalty, but the home side’s hopes faded when Robert Andrich was sent off, followed shortly by PSG’s Illia Zabarnyi seeing red as well.

Nuno Mendes extended PSG’s lead after the break before Garcia pulled one back. Returning from injury, Ousmane Dembele marked his comeback in style by scoring PSG’s sixth goal — his first appearance since winning the Ballon d’Or. Vitinha sealed the night with a late strike, completing PSG’s first-ever seven-goal haul away from home in the Champions League. The Parisians now top their group with nine points from three games and boast the best goal difference.

In England, Arsenal produced a commanding 4-0 win over Atletico Madrid at the Emirates Stadium. The Gunners, under Mikel Arteta, maintained their 100 percent European record with goals from Gabriel, Gabriel Martinelli, and a brace from Viktor Gyokeres, who ended his seven-game goal drought. Arteta praised the striker, saying this performance could spark a “beautiful scoring run.”

Meanwhile, Erling Haaland continued his scoring streak for Manchester City, helping them secure a 2-0 victory against Villarreal. Bernardo Silva doubled the lead before halftime as Pep Guardiola’s side climbed to seven points, with Haaland already on 15 goals in just 11 appearances this season.

Inter Milan also remained perfect after three games, defeating Union Saint-Gilloise 4-0 in Brussels. Goals from Denzel Dumfries, Lautaro Martinez, Hakan Calhanoglu, and Pio Esposito ensured a comfortable victory for the Italian giants.

Barcelona returned to their best with a 6-1 demolition of Olympiacos at Montjuic. Fermin Lopez was the star of the show with a brilliant hat-trick, while Lamine Yamal converted a penalty and Marcus Rashford bagged a brace. Ayoub El Kaabi’s late penalty was the only consolation for the Greek side.

PSV Eindhoven stunned Napoli with a remarkable 6-2 home win despite falling behind early. Scott McTominay opened for Napoli, but an Alessandro Buongiorno own goal equalized before Ismael Saibari, Dennis Man (twice), Ricardo Pepi, and Couhaib Driouech sealed an emphatic victory. Napoli’s Lorenzo Lucca was sent off late in the match, adding to their misery.

Borussia Dortmund also impressed with a 4-2 win over FC Copenhagen, thanks to Felix Nmecha’s double, a Ramy Bensebaini penalty, and a Fabio Silva goal. Copenhagen fought back briefly through Waldemar Anton’s own goal and Viktor Dadason’s late strike but couldn’t avoid defeat.

Elsewhere, Newcastle United continued their strong run in Europe, beating Benfica 3-0 at St James’ Park. Anthony Gordon scored early, and substitute Harvey Barnes added two in the second half. Benfica, managed by Jose Mourinho, are yet to earn a single point in the competition.

The only goalless game of the night came in Kazakhstan, where Kairat Almaty and Pafos of Cyprus played out a 0-0 draw. With 43 goals across nine games, it was a night of pure attacking brilliance that reminded fans why the Champions League remains football’s grandest stage.
