LAHORE: Pakistan delivered a resounding statement of intent at the West Asia Baseball Cup 2025 by dismantling long-time rivals India with a thumping 14-1 victory in the semi-final played at Tehran’s Enghelab Stadium on Tuesday.

The defending champions entered the semi-final with strong momentum, and from the first pitch, it was clear they were on a mission. With precision pitching, powerful hitting, and tight fielding, Pakistan outclassed India in every aspect of the game. The match was effectively sealed by the mid-innings as Pakistan piled up runs with confidence while India struggled to cope with the pace and aggression.

This one-sided encounter not only highlighted the gap between the two sides in baseball but also showed Pakistan’s readiness to defend their title. The team maintained its unbeaten streak in the tournament and now stands just one win away from lifting the cup once again.

Pakistan’s batting line-up was on fire, scoring consistently in nearly every inning. Their hitters played smart, aggressive baseball, turning scoring opportunities into runs with clean hits and clever baserunning. The fielders backed up the effort with sharp plays, denying India any chance to build momentum.

On the mound, Pakistan’s pitchers were in complete control, keeping the Indian batters on the back foot throughout. India managed only one run during the entire contest—a testament to the Pakistani bowlers’ accuracy and strategy.

Following the match, Pakistan’s coaching staff praised the players for their disciplined approach and focus. “It was a high-pressure game because of the opponent, but our boys remained composed and delivered on every front,” said one official. “Now the goal is to finish the job in the final.”

Pakistan will face Palestine in the tournament’s final on Wednesday. Palestine also pulled off a dominating performance in their semi-final match, overwhelming hosts Iran by a massive margin of 18-3. This sets up an exciting final between two sides who have proven their strength in the competition.

Palestine’s explosive form makes them a formidable opponent, but Pakistan’s experience and current rhythm give them a clear edge. The showdown promises to be an intense battle for regional baseball supremacy.

This victory over India is more than just a win—it’s a reflection of how far Pakistan has come as a baseball nation in the region. With structured training, increased exposure, and rising talent, Pakistan continues to solidify its dominance in West Asian baseball.

All eyes will now be on Wednesday’s final as Pakistan aims to retain their crown and further their legacy as regional champions. A win would not only affirm their dominance but also boost the sport’s popularity back home.
