The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has announced a comprehensive three-phase U-19 Skills Assessment Camp, kicking off on June 19 at the Inzamam-ul-Haq High Performance Centre in Multan. Sixty emerging cricketers from across the country have been shortlisted to undergo a series of match-based evaluations as part of PCB’s strategy to build a strong squad for the 2026 ICC U-19 World Cup.

Camp Structure

The camp is divided into three distinct phases:

  • Phase 1 (June 18–23): 30 players will undergo match-based skill assessments.

  • Phase 2 (June 25–30): Another 30 players will follow the same process.

  • Phase 3 (Dates TBA): 10 previously capped Pakistan U-19 players — still eligible for the 2026 World Cup — will be evaluated separately.

To qualify, players must be born on or after September 1, 2006, in accordance with ICC’s age criteria for the upcoming World Cup.

Phase 1 Players:

Talent has been drawn from cities like Lahore, Multan, Peshawar, Bahawalpur, Sialkot, Abbottabad, and Rawalpindi. Notable names include Abbas Khan, Abdul Ahad, Haroon Khan, Mudassir (FATA), Mohammad Arshad, and Uzair Ali.

Phase 2 Players:

The second batch includes players from Karachi, Hyderabad, FATA, Quetta, Islamabad, and AJK. Key selections are Ahmed Raza, Mohammad Shahzaib Naqeeb, Muhammad Shayan, Sheeraz Ahmed, and Yahya Shah.

Phase 3 Players:

The final phase will host 10 players with prior Pakistan U-19 experience:

  • Abdul Subhan

  • Ahmed Hussain

  • Farhan Yousuf

  • Hassan Khan

  • Mohammad Huzaifa

  • Mohammad Tahir

  • Momin Qamar

  • Tayyab Arif

  • Umar Zaib

  • Usman Khan

Vision Behind the Camp

This initiative is part of PCB’s broader talent identification and development plan under the high-performance structure recently revitalized by Director Aaqib Javed. The camp aims to identify technically sound, mentally strong, and match-ready players who can represent Pakistan at the next U-19 World Cup.

The assessment will focus not only on cricketing skills but also on game awareness, fitness levels, and attitude under pressure.

By launching this systematic, merit-based evaluation process, PCB aims to restore the strength of its youth pipeline — ensuring the future national team is built on a foundation of solid, homegrown talent.
